Sony Reader PRS-T1 Revealed In Images [Dutch Retailer Reveals The Sony Reader PRS-T1 A Bit Ahead Of Schedule, Image & Specs Included]
We have seen a few bits and pieces involving the upcoming and yet to be officially announced Sony Reader at this point. Granted, the fact that the device has yet to be announced by Sony means most of what we have seen had been rumor. But that being said, it looks like a Dutch retailer accidentally offered up a bit more in terms of detail — including both an image along with some specs and a price.

First things first, though, the more significant of the previous Sony Reader PRS-T1 sightings included the FCC appearance that came back towards the end of July. And while that listing did not include much in terms of detail — it did suggest that a release was coming sooner rather than later.
And well, we still have yet to hear anything from Sony, however that Dutch retailer has given us a good look at what we are waiting for. The image can be seen in this post (above) and shows off the Reader in black, white and red. In terms of the price, that was listed at € 164.95.
Otherwise, the Sony Reader PRS-T1 was noted as featuring a 6 inch (800 x 600) E-Ink display, 2GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot and Wi-Fi. The Reader was noted as weighing in at 168 grams, which is most likely attributed to the fact that the body is now made of plastic. In addition, the Reader PRS-T1 will have Wikipedia and Google search built-in as well as support for formats to include EPUB, PDF, MP3, AAC and more.
With that, we suspect the retailer realized the error of their ways and has since taken down the listing. All things considered, this looks like a decent enough Sony Reader. In other words, it should be a nice upgrade for current Sony Reader users or a nice starting point for first timers, but at the same time, there does not seem to be anything really to convince anyone to make the switch from another reading platform.
