Sony Tablet P is the Sony S2 Clamshell Android Tablet
Sony has recently unveiled details about its upcoming Android Honeycomb tablet. The previously-announced Sony S2 is now called the Sony Tablet P.

This comes after Sony announced its curved magazine-like S1 tablet to be officially marketed as the Sony Tablet S. Recall that these two tablets were announced hand-in-hand, and are supposed to have unique form factors. The Sony Tablet S is a 9.4-inch device that comes with a curved back or a “folded design,” which is supposed to be ideal for reading content like ebooks and online magazines. Meanwhile, the Sony Tablet P comes in a clamshell form factor, with both sides sporting 5.5-inch screens.
Both devices will be officially launched at IFA 2011 in Berlin this early Septemer, so expect Sony to announce exact specifications, pricing and release details by then. As a recap, the Sony Tablet P (otherwise known as the Sony S2) will be powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, and will be PlayStation certified, meaning users can access the PlayStation Suite store for content.
