More Men Own Tablets & More Ladies Prefer E-Readers Study Shows

Nielsen Data Would Like Us To Think The Genders Have Chosen Their Gadgets

We love the data from surveys and studies don’t we? This time Nielsen brings us some numbers that could show that men and women are different from each other after all. Those who own tablets are predominately men and those who own e-readers are more women than men. In fact 61% of e-reader owners are women and 57% of tablet owners are men.

You have to consider that these numbers are subject to change because these devices are fairly new and they are evolving, probably even as you read this article. Still, though, it is interesting to gander as to why the stats are the way they are. Perhaps it is more common for women to curl up with a book making an e-reader perfect with no distractions. Men perhaps like power and function making tablets more appealing. Any ideas?

There were more numbers from the study that were also interesting, so check out the source link for more from the Nielsen blog.
