New Casing Suggests iPhone 4S May Lack Antennagate Issues [Leaked iPhone 4S/5 Mid-Frame Shows Different Antenna & Lack of Home Button Area]
The next-gen iPhone is coming in the following weeks and at this point we’re not only interested to see what features it will have to offer, or how many models Apple has in store for us, but also who’s going to properly introduce it considering that Steve Jobs has tendered his resignation as CEO of Apple.

But until we wait for Apple to announce the date for its fall keynote we’ll take a look at a new iPhone leaked part. This time around we’re looking at the mid-frame of the iPhone 4S, as featured in images by MacRumors.

Assuming it’s the real deal, we’ll point out a few difference between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S based on this mid-frame. The iPhone 4S, or the cheaper fifth-generation iPhone, is apparently fairly similar to the iPhone 4, which is something we’ve heard before. The mid-frame, however, is different as it suggests that the iPhone 4S will come with a new kind of antenna, one that will have two breaks at the bottom of the case, unlike the iPhone 4. The antenna of the fourth-generation iPhone breaks in the lower left side and on the top left side for the GSM model and on the top sides for the CDMA model.
The new antenna design, if real, can’t tell us yet whether the new iPhone will have any Antennagate-like issues, but we’ll certainly keep you in the loop on this important matter once the phone gets official. However, if Apple is making any modifications to the external antenna one could only assume they are meant to improve the phone’s signal reception.

Other details revealed by the mid-frame is the presence of a SIM card, in line with previous “World Phone” rumors, and the missing Home Button area. Will Apple make any important modifications to its iOS device Home Button? Another thing that may be important when assessing previous iPhone 4S/5 leaks and rumors is the fact that the mute switch and the volume buttons are still placed on the same side they’re found on the iPhone 4.
Will you buy the entry-level iPhone 4 or the full-blown iPhone 5 model (our poll here)?
