David Jaffe Announces Twisted Metal's Release Date
There’s plenty of things you can do for your loved one on Valentine’s Day. You can take them out to a nice dinner, get them a beautiful arrangement of flowers, profess your undying love for them at the base of the Eiffel Tower, or you can get them a card (though you may not have a loved one on February 15th if all you get them is a card). David Jaffe, however, has a different idea: get them Twisted Metal instead!

Yes, you heard me right: Twisted Metal. David Jaffe announced its new release date today, and oddly enough, it’s coming out on Valentine’s Day in America. Why Valentine’s Day? To Jaffe, the answer is simple:
It’s a very romantic game, as you know. What I predict is going to happen is you’re going to have people going out to their romantic dinners, and then coming home and playing the crap out of local split-screen. Then, obviously we know what happens after that, because there’s nothing more romantic than blowing your significant other up with a maniacal, demonic ice cream truck.
To me, that sounds like pretty solid logic, so I’m just going to roll with it. Jaffe also took some time to apologize for Twisted Metal‘s delay, which was originally meant to be out in October. He also thanked fans anxious to play it for their patience with them as they put the finishing touches on Twisted Metal and prepare it for its new early 2012 release.

As for Twisted Metal‘s European release, the European PlayStation Blog has tweeted that it will definitely be out in PAL regions sometime in February, but a solid release date has yet to be nailed down. Keep it tuned right here to TFTS, and we’ll update you once we have more details on Twisted Metal‘s European release date.
