Apple Sells Refurbished iPads For $299
While everybody hankered for the $99 firesale HP Touchpads over the weekend, Apple quietly offered refurbished iPads on the Apple Store in the United States during the beginning of this week. And the store sold iPads for the low, low price of $299.

The $299 iPad, which is the lowest-priced iPad you can buy directly from Apple, is the 16GB WiFi version of the First-generation iPad. Refurbished versions of higher capacities are also offered, but they’re understandably higher-priced. And it’s not really ideal to buy them, as adding a bit more could get you new units of the iPad 2. Unfortunately, the refurbished 16GB iPads are currently out of stock (32GB and 64GB refurbs are still available), and it’s not known when Apple will have some for sale again. But keep revisiting the page every once in a while – who knows when you’ll be lucky.

For those waiting for the newest version of the iPad, there’s still quite a bit of wait ahead of you yet. Relax till then, monitor any iPad 3 news and rumor here at TFTS, and wait for new Apple CEO Tim Cook to present us Apple’s newest device on stage on 2012.
