Samsung Responds: They Do Not Want HP's Computer Business
HP recently killed the TouchPad and while that was the part of the story that received the most attention, there was also another side — the side where HP was not necessarily into the whole having a computer business any longer.

And well, coming as a result of that we saw some unconfirmed reports that suggested Samsung was moving forward and trying to get in on what could have ended up as a purchase of HP’s computer business. Basically, the rumor mill was suggesting that Samsung was going to buy the business from HP.
Needless to say, while we love rumors and speculation — we also love a quick resolution. In fact, we may love a quick resolution even more. That being said, we do have to send a nice shout out to Samsung for the quick confirmation, which arrived by way of a short and simple message on their official company blog;
Regarding Recent Rumors about Samsung’s PC Business
The recent rumors that Samsung Electronics will be taking over Hewlett-Packard Co.’s personal computer business are not true.
We hope this clarifies any confusion that may have occurred.
Bottom line, regardless of their reasoning — Samsung does not appear to be interested in buying HP’s computer business. Moving forward, we have to wonder which company will be the next to get involved in this rumor. And once one becomes a part, we can only hope they react as quick as Samsung and either confirm or deny the rumors.
That being said, any TFTS readers have any guesses or thoughts as to who else should/could pick up the computer side of HP. Me personally, while I have no real preference, it seems like Samsung would have been as good a company as any. Of course, there is always Dell, Acer, Asus and numerous others.
