HP Confirms The White 64GB TouchPad, Set To Arrive In Europe Shortly

Here in the US we are reading reports about how bad the TouchPad is selling. Or more specifically, how the TouchPad is not selling and Best Buy is looking to get rid of their surplus inventory. And on the flip side, those in Europe look like they will soon be treated to another model of the TouchPad.

Yup, it seems that HP has decided once again to first release a webOS running product in Europe before having it come available for those in the US. Of course, the most recent that we are speaking of here is the Pre 3. And now, courtesy of an early reveal by HP France, we have details on a 64GB TouchPad tablet in white.

The catch here, I am not all that certain those in the US really care about webOS or the TouchPad at this point given the recent news — poor sales and dropping prices. That being said, the news of the white 64GB TouchPad was later confirmed by HP which means those in Europe (and only Europe) will soon be able to make a purchase. According to the HP France product listing, the tablet will sell for €599 and it is expected to be available in 1 to 2 weeks time.

Otherwise, for the most part, the TouchPad specs read the same as what we have already seen and include the 10.1 inch display, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/g/n and 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. In addition, this model has the 64GB of storage and is available in white.

The one difference in the specs comes with the processor. This 64GB model has the same 1.5GHz processor that was in the TouchPad 4G model that is heading to AT&T here in the US. More specifically, the processor is a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060.

And lastly, while nothing all that specific was given, HP did make note that “this product” (referring to the 64GB TouchPad) would be available in other regions in the future and that pricing and release announcements would come “closer to availability.”
