Droid Incredible Gingerbread Update Delayed By Verizon
The news of an Android software update being delayed most likely comes as bad news to most. And granted, we will admit it is a bit disappointing but at the same time there is the flip side — the update rolled out and messed up your phone. In that respect we will treat this as a bit of good news.

That being said, we are sure many will disagree, but anyway — Verizon has officially delayed the roll-out of the Gingerbread update for the original Droid Incredible. And for those who were not as familiar with that story, it seems to be on again and off again.
For a while it looked like the original Droid Incredible had reached the limit in terms of updates. In fact, a letter that was said to have come from HTC said so much — stating that the “Droid Incredible is not on that list” when referring to the list of handsets that would get Gingerbread. And then just a few days later Verizon posted the official details and it looked liked things were back on track.
Of course, the details being posted by Verizon did not necessarily mean that the update was actually in the process, but in the works and being prepared. Anyway, it looks like they must have found some bugs or some other issues because the latest chapter here is that the update has been delayed.
The latest details have come by way of the Verizon support forums where an employee of Verizon has stated that;
Everyone, I apologize for the inconvenience, but the update has been delayed. Our product team is going through more testing. Once we know for sure when the update is coming, we will post more info.
In other words, those waiting can stop checking for the moment.
