Box.net Offers Cloud Storage On The Go

Box.net Launches Apps For Android, BlackBerry PlayBook, & HTML5-Enabled Devices

Cloud storage provider box.net recently launched new applications specifically for tablets. Ever since iPad came out, the company’s enterprise customers have been requesting for a Box.net interface tailored for the Apple tablet that they could use to manage content easily. As time went by, customers also began requesting support for Android devices.

In response to this demand, Box.net released apps for Android devices and the BlackBerry PlayBook. The new Android app replaces an older one created for phones, while the PlayBook app is Box.net’s first for BlackBerry. For HP devices, Box.net integrated its iOS app with the WebOS – in fact, the California-based company already has a million customers using this setup. No specific app for the Windows Phone 7 OS, but Box.net also launched an HTML5 version of m.Box.net that people can access using any HTML5-enabled device.

The creation of these apps is part of Box.net’s efforts to keep up with the rapid transitions of computing technology. The company says,

The shift to a post-PC world is one of the most profound transitions of the past two decades. The devices we’re using to get work done are changing dramatically, and with them, our business software and systems are also evolving rapidly.
