Apple Vs. Samsung Case In Netherlands Gets Tweeted
Apple may have won a big victory in the German courts against Samsung and it’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 but the battle’s not quite over on other fronts. There’s a case in the Netherlands of Apple vs. Samsung having to do with the same patents. According to a tech reporter who was tweeting from within the courtroom, things got pretty interesting.

Andreas Udo de Haes, who is a Dutch tech reporter, sat in the courtroom to watch the circus. He decided to tweet about the case as it unfolded and received quite a following afterwards. Quoting some of the more interesting tweets:
- “Lawyers of both sides buzzing around the bench, Apple flashing multiple phones and pictures in front of the judge”
- “Now quarreling about prior iPhoneesque UI’s with rounded square icons. Apple: totally different”
They had some arguments about unlocking systems:
- “Apple: our unlock system is so revolutionary, even monkeys can handle it!”
- “But research shows users actually prefer virtual switch toggle over a slider, Apple concedes”
Samsung slams Apple about patents:
- “heart of this case are these 3 patents: http://j.mp/oQGSsF, http://j.mp/pY3qQo and http://j.mp/qcQ4z1″
- “Samsung: we also have a lot of patents, but on *real* technology. Ouch.”
Samsung did quite a bit of calling Apple hypocritical and silly:
- “Samsung: Apple wants to stop anything that is thin!”
- “Samsung: according to Apples standards every digital photo frame is an iPad”
- “Bottom line for Samsung: this case is way too elaborate and complex for summary proceedings. Asks the judge to throw out the case”
