Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro Now Available With Rogers

Despite some earlier rumors, it seems like its been a little while since we last heard anything in terms of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro coming to Rogers. And well, flash forward till today and it looks like Rogers has officially announced the handset.

Yup, as of today, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro is exclusively available with Rogers. And while we are sure that some non-Rogers customers may be interested in picking this handset up, as of this time we have yet to see just how long the Rogers exclusivity would last.

That being said, the Xperia Mini Pro is priced at $49.99 on a three year agreement. Also, for those looking to ditch the long term agreement and willing to pay a bit more up front — the Xperia Min Pro is reasonably priced. According to the details on the Rogers website, the no-term pricing for the handset is $274.99.

As for the features that you can expect, those begin with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a 3 inch Mobile BRAVIA (480 x 320) touchscreen display. In addition, one will also find a 4-row hardware slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel camera with 8x zoom and video recording and a microSD card slot that comes with an 8GB memory card already in place.

A few other perks and tidbits on the Xperia Mini Pro include a display that is scratch-resistant, an “improved” user interface that allows for up to 16 apps to be placed on the home screen and a keyboard that is said to be “optimized for quick messaging.” In terms of the keyboard, that was noted as being a;

slide-out keyboard with smart functionality delivers a subtle but fast Type & Send functionality eliminating the need to open a dedicated app for each type of message. The Smart Keyboard triggers predictive messaging actions automatically when the user slides out the keyboard.
