Nintendo Of America Keeping An Eye On European Release Of Xenoblade
With Nintendo of America saying that there’s no plans to bring Xenoblade Chronicles, Pandora’s Tower, and The Last Story to North America, that should have been the end of it. However, thanks to the efforts of a group named Operation Rainfall, the localization of these three titles has stayed in the news, and all of the press seems to be doing something to break down Nintendo of America’s defenses.

Speaking to IGN, Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime hinted that North American localization might still be in the cards, as they’ll be “watching,” the performance of Xenoblade Chronicles when it launches in Europe next week:
We will be watching very closely what happens in Europe. Certainly if there are business opportunities and positive consumer uptake from some of those titles, that will be great data for us to consider as we look at what to do with these titles.
Of course, that’s not anywhere close to an official confirmation, but it’s better than nothing. Hopefully Xenoblade nets enough sales in Europe to warrant a North American release, but the problem with Nintendo’s plan is that these types of games normally sell much better in America than they do in Europe, so Nintendo may pass on North American localization without realizing just how much money they’re missing out on.
Oh well, Nintendo’s known for their wacky decisions, and the way they’re handling the topic of Xenoblade‘s localization is nothing if not wacky. As always, we’ll have more information for you as new details develop, so if you’re one of the people clamoring to see these games localized, keep it tuned right here to TFTS!
