What Would You Sacrifice For Your Smartphone?

Study Shows 63% Of Smartphone Users Would Give Up Chocolate To Keep Their Phones

A survey put out by TeleNav asks smartphone users what they would be willing to give up for a week in order to keep their phones. Although the pool it was taken from was relatively small (500 plus), some of the numbers are interesting to say the least.

Here’s the rundown of the crazy people out there… Are you more willing to give up your smartphone for a week or:

  • Alcohol – 70%
  • Chocolate – 63% (really?)
  • Caffeine – 55% (this has gotta be fudged)
  • Exercise - 54%
  • Sex – 33%
  • Toothbrush – 22% (Mentos, at least?)
  • Shoes – 21%
  • Computer – 20%

Some of “life’s greatest pleasures” go by the wayside when it comes to some people’s smartphones. These are some scary numbers. Included in the survey and infographic are some statistics broken down by mobile OS. Apparently some people surveyed would rather go a week without seeing their significant other than go without their digital sidekick:

The one that hits home is that 66% of smartphone users sleep with their smartphones right next to them (guilty!). Perhaps it’s because they double as an alarm clock. Either way, should numbers such as these alarm (pun) us or move us to change somehow?
