Apple Becomes The World's Largest Company

Apple Passes Exxon Mobile To Take The Top Spot According To Market Value

Today is a happy day for Apple because they have just become the world’s largest company according to their market value. Microsoft was passed by back in May of 2010 as the largest tech company. Exxon Mobile has had the “largest company in the world” seat for over a century. Go Apple.

Because of Apple’s innovation and success in the mobile market, they have seen unprecedented growth in the last 10 or so years. They came up with the iPhone and the iPad, both creating a boom for Apple that is still growing rapidly. Apple products are still flying off the shelves, even during a difficult economic time such as now.

Exxon Mobile, earlier named Standard Oil, was started by John D Rockefeller back in 1870. Apple on the other hand has only been around for just over 30 years and apparently that’s all the time it took to become number one. Apple hit $337 billion to overtake Exxon at $334 billion making the race a close one.
