Windows 7 Is More Secure Than OS X
Researchers did some work to pit Microsoft Windows 7 against Apple’s OS X to see who comes out on top in the area of security. The conclusion they came to may surprise some while others may have expected it. Who knew Windows 7 would win?

Apparently escalating privileges are an issue for both Microsoft and Apple, but there are more vulnerabilities in OS X than Windows 7. Windows won soundly in the area of network security. They’re saying that enterprises ought to be running OS X products in isolated islands within networks.
While both did well in the tests, Microsoft came out on top. Earlier versions of Apple’s OS X were more susceptible to exploit, but the latest version, Lion, has helped to close the gap.
Because of the differences in focus of each company, perhaps it shouldn’t be such a surprise. Apple seems more dedicated to fulfilling the needs of their creative users, and Microsoft has quite a base in the enterprise market. It would only make sense that Microsoft would dedicate so much attention to network security.
