Walmart Offering 3DS At Discounted Price Starting Today
Walmart has taken the initiative in slashing the price of Nintendo’s beleaguered handheld, dropping the price from $250 down to a more attractive $170 a few days before everyone else plans to. Nintendo originally said that the price drop would happen on August 12th, but if you simply can’t wait until the weekend, you can get your discounted 3DS at Walmart today.

Of course, this earlier-than-anticipated price drop means that you can, indeed, eat your cake and have it too. Those who jump on this deal will be able to get their 3DS at a discounted price as well as sign up for Nintendo’s 3DS Ambassador Program, which was originally meant for early-adopters who bought the 3DS at the full $250 price. The 3DS Ambassador Program will net you 20 free games – 10 NES games and 10 GBA games – and all you need to do to qualify for it is connect the 3DS eShop sometime before 11:59 PM on August 11th.

While it seems like the majority of Walmart stores have slashed the price on the 3DS, it’s still probably a good idea to call your local store before heading out to pick up your shiny new 3DS. Is anyone planning on taking advantage of this offer? Head down to the comments section and tell us what you’re planning now that the 3DS price cut is (more or less) official!
