Is Skype Coming To Windows Phone 7 In The Near Future?
Seeing as though Microsoft bought Skype for a whopping $8.5 billion, you would expect them to at least get it going on their phones, right? Well, it has come out that Microsoft is seeking a programmer to specifically work on Skype for Windows platforms and more specifically Windows Phone 7.

This developer will be working with a small team to help bring a new release of the “Skype Video Engine” every two months. They’re looking for a “star quality C++ developer” with this set of prerequisites (should you be interested in applying):
- Strong knowledge and substantial experience in C++
- Experience in programming real-time and multi-threaded systems
- Experience in programming for the Microsoft Windows platform
- Experience working in a software development team
- Excellent communication skills (English is a must)
You’d better be willing to be based in Stockholm or Tallinn and be willing to travel to Europe and the United States periodically. Sounds like fun. Either way, at least we know they’re working on getting Skype to Windows Phone 7 but let’s wait and see how long the hiring process takes.
