HP Expected To Further Discount The TouchPad This Weekend
Just a few days back fellow TFTS team member Mariella told you how HP was offering a $50 discount on the HP TouchPad. That offer was simple enough, it began on July 29th and was set to run through September 10th and meant you could purchase a 16GB TouchPad for $449.99 or a 32GB TouchPad for $549.99.

Of course, that was quickly followed up by several other retailers including Amazon and Staples. But coming back to the present day, and it looks like HP is going to begin offering a bit more of a discount for those willing to make the purchase. Though strange, this latest sale offer appears to have a conflicting time period as the original sale.
That being said, the details have yet to be posted on the HP website, however they are coming by way of a television commercial that has reportedly been running on the TNT network. In short, beginning August 5th and running through the weekend until August 7th — you will be able to buy the TouchPad direct from HP and save $100.
In other words, expect to pay $399.99 for the 16GB TouchPad or $499.99 for the 32GB TouchPad. Those interested in this offer will be able to make a purchase by way of the hp.com/offers website. And while that sounds like a good deal, we have to remind you that you can already get that same pricing by way of a third party retailer.
Remember, there is that offer from Staples still floating around. And for those who may have missed that news — you can get a coupon that cuts the price by $100. Basically, it is the same as what HP will be doing this weekend. That said, the Staples discount is set to expire on August 7th.
All said and done, while I am not ready or willing to shell out any of my money, I can say that $399.99 sounds much better as compared to $499.99.
