AOL Editions Personalizes Reading Experience
AOL launched its new newsreader app for the iPad called “Editions,” which has the capability to personalize the content that gets delivered to your device. Editions collates articles, images, and videos from various news sources from across a number of genres, and delivers some sort of a magazine tailored to your needs. Think of it as your personal digital editor.

For the Editions system to learn what kind of content it should deliver for you, you have to choose some keywords you like (and conversely, don’t like), although it also takes into account what topics your social networking circle are generally into. It then scours the 30,000 sources and publications available to it, and collects everything relevant to your interests in an “edition” delivered to your iPad once a day. Unfortunately, that means anything published after the personalized digital mag is delivered would have to wait till the next day. So if timeliness is essential for you, Editions might not be your best option.

AOL Editions is now available on iTunes.
