Gameloft Sales Climb Possibly Because Of Mobile Game Sales
Even in a tight world economy, Gameloft seems to be doing well. During the first half of the year their sales hit about $110 million US dollars, up 15% from last year with much of the growth coming in the first quarter. Why are they doing so well in a time when the economy is rough in many countries?

Taking a look at their sales, we can see perhaps what is helping them so much. Smartphone and tablet sales account for 30% of the total and their sales are up a whopping 55%. They are looking to release another 20 games in the second half of the year so sustained growth is very possible.
Some say they need work on their Android distribution methods but high quality games keep them selling. With the mobile gaming market as dynamic as it is, companies such as Gameloft seem to be doing well. Smartphone sales are soaring, tablets are growing in popularity, and mobile games are highly sought after. Looks like a good recipe for game developers.
