Foxconn Turning Into An Army Of Robot Drones
We all know Foxconn as the Taiwanese tech manufacturer responsible for putting together products for Apple, Nokia, Sony, and other companies. Working conditions in the company is apparently so arduous that Foxconn is plagued with a number of worker suicides. Foxconn’s new recruits, however, won’t be prone to stress and depression. Or any kind of feelings and emotions at all.

Foxconn is reportedly planning to introduce an increasing number of robot workers to its factories. Current number of Foxconn robot drones is 10,000 – next year, Foxconn is looking to increase that number to 300,000, and eventually to a million within the next 3 years. As Foxconn employs 1.2 million workers (mostly from mainland China), one can easily see that the manufacturer is looking to replace the vast majority of its workforce with machines.

The company cites increasing labor expenses as the reason why it’s making this transition, along with aims to improve efficiency. In other words, Foxconn wants to be able to churn out more products without having to deal with human error, cunning, and compensation.
