Rumor: Timesplitters 4 Announcement Coming Soon From Crytek UK

The existence of Timesplitters 4 has been rumored for quite some time now, as both a release for this generation and as a possible launch title for the next Xbox. Now, new rumors are saying not only that Timesplitters 4 exists, but that we’re heading for an announcement soon as well.

The rumor comes from Official PlayStation Magazine UK, which said in the “Rumor Machine,” section of the August 2011 issue that we’ll be hearing from Timesplitters 4 shortly. “Gun-wielding monkeys are finally making a comeback!” the blurb says. “A fourth Timesplitters title is to be announced soon.”

We’ve known that Crytek UK has been gauging publisher interest in Timesplitters 4 for a while, so maybe they finally found a publisher to green-light the project? Hopefully all of these Timesplitters 4 rumors come to an end soon and Crytek UK officially announces it, because I don’t know how much more Timesplitters fans can take – we’ve already been waiting six years since the release of Timesplitters: Future Perfect!
