Skype Releases Version 5.5 For Windows
Skype announced version 5.5 rollout of the chat program that features “deeper FaceBook integration.” If you recall, FaceBook announced a free in-browser Skype-based video chat support just some time ago. Conversely, the latest version of Skype allows you to perform FaceBook functions from within the application using the new FaceBook Contacts Tab.

According to the Skype blog announcement, Skype 5.5 lets you update your FaceBook status, lets Like status messages, lets you comment on wall posts, and allows you to chat up or video call your friends using their FaceBook profiles from within the program. FaceBook functions aside, other updates include improved video calls in terms of control and reliability for both individual and group calls. And even more Skype emoticons for times when you’re feeling too lazy to type.

This new Skype update went into beta phase back in June, and is only available for Windows operating system users as of the moment.
