New Google Search Available for iPad, Xoom, Galaxy Tab 10.1… Well, Almost Any Tablet
Google has decided that its Google Search experience on tablets its not exactly a piece of cake for users. Either that or it could bring in even more cash for the company, and hence a redesign was needed.

Redesign is a word we keep hearing lately when it comes to Google products, and, in truth, we’re not surprised to see Google’s mobile search get reinvented, at least for tablets. Google says it’s all meant to improve our overall tablet experience, but since we were not born yesterday, and since we are aware that Google’s main revenue is based on Search, I’m sure the new design should work well for the company too.
The new Search experience, which includes a simplified layout, bigger text, buttons, and “other touch targets” isn’t just available on Android tablets, but on other mobile platforms. Therefore, if you happen to own an iPad, iPad 2, PlayBook (we assume RIM’s tablet would also be included at some point as Google only mentions support for iOS and Android 3.1 devices in its materials), Xoom or Galaxy Tab 10.1, you’ll be able to experience the same new Google Search layout and design.
I for one can’t say that the previous Google Search setup was annoying me while doing my searching on the tablet and the new design wasn’t really needed, was it? I happen to use the tablet for a lot of browsing, and considering my job requirements, a tablet is quite useful when it comes to keeping in touch with people and monitoring the tech news through the day. Googling for stuff (yes, I don’t Bing) is also a part of my daily routines, and I care very little whether the buttons are placed on top or on the side or whether the text is bigger since my pinch-to-zoom skills are quite formidable. How are you finding the new Google Search design?
