HP Puts Out The Call For Pre 3 Apps
The Pre 3 release date remains a mystery at this point, though we have heard several rumors suggesting a release will happen in the month of July. Of course, the official word is that the Pre 3 is coming this summer. And while I am sure many do not need to be reminded of this, but the fact is, the summer months are quickly coming to an end.

Anyway, HP did send out some teaser emails last month that reminded everyone the Pre 3 did not fade away into vaporware. You probably remember, it was the email where HP touted the Pre 3 as being a “cutting edge” smartphone with goodies such as “true multitasking functionality.”
But I digress, and coming as of today, it looks like HP is still prepping things for the launch. And what better thing to prep — the apps. HP has put out the call to all webOS developers letting them know that they can now submit their Pre 3- ready apps for entry into the App Catalog. But in the end, we are still wondering when (aside from sometime in the summer) that the Pre 3 will be available for purchase.

We are getting ready to launch the Pre 3 smartphone. If you have an existing webOS smartphone app, we encourage you to start preparing your app for the Pre 3 by accessing an updated emulator and other supporting documentation that’s planned to be available this week to members in our Early Access program. If you would like to join our Early Access program, please email PDC@palm.com.
Staring now, you can submit apps for Pre 3 to the App Catalog. We are in the process or testing existing smartphone apps for Pre 3 compatibility. The apps that are deemed compatible will be automatically made available for Pre 3. Again, if you do not wish to make your app available for Pre 3, you can manually deselect it in the “My Apps” tab when you log into your account.
