ARMA 2 Mobile Game Added To Android Market
The ArmA series of video games is one of the most accurate battlefield combat simulators out there. So what does it need? A mobile phone version, of course! Android devices which are powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chipset can now purchase ARMA II: Firing Range THD, a firing range simulator that allows you test out a number of realistic military weapons.

To the credit of original ArmA developer Bohemian Interactive, it doesn’t appear that they developed this game. Instead, its entry on the Android Market credits “NVIDIA Tegra Partners”. And likewise, you’ll need a Tegra device to run this app, like the Motorola Xoom or Motorola Droid X2.
So what is this little firing range simulator’s connection to the real ARMA games on the PC? According to the description, the little app uses the same high-resolution and high-polygon models from the PC games in the firing range app.
We haven’t used it, but this app doesn’t seem so worthwhile to us. At the price of just $1.99, it’s not exactly super expensive, so if you’re a big gun nut, you may want to check it out anyway. It does have some multiplayer connectivity, you can compare your scores on the range to that of other players and whatnot. It also has achievements, so you can compete against your friends in that regard too.
This game just came out yesterday, and it already has a rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars and has only been downloaded between 50-100 times. Do you have experience with this app? Is it worthy of the ARMA name? Tell us what you think about it in the comments section.
