Sprint Says It's Time For HTC Evo 4G To Bite The Dust
A leaked screenshot of Sprint’s EOL or end-of-line list of devices for 2011 reveals that the first 4G enabled device in the United States – the HTC Evo 4G – will soon be out of phase. The Evo 4G caused quite a lot of excitement in its time not only for being the first 4G device in the US, but also for having great specs. But as new devices come along, Sprint decided to put the Evo 4G to rest, and make room for the newcomers.

The phaseout begins with the white HTC Evo 4Gon September, followed by the black version on October. The screenshot below shows the other devices to be pulled out, including the Samsung Epic 4G, the BlackBerry 9650, and the BlackBerry Curve 3G. You can still pick up any of these models until they get completely sold out.

Sprint rolled out a software update for the Evo 4G back in June that includes fixes for voicemail notifications, Netflix issues, and hearing aid compatibility problems.
