Madden NFL 12 Demo Slated For August Release [Madden NFL 12 Demo Announced For August Release, Pits Chicago Bears Against Green Bay Packers In A Rematch Of Last Year's NFC Championship]

With all of this talk about the possible cancellation of the 2011 NFL season, I wouldn’t be surprised one bit to find out that some football fans are still at the bar, celebrating the fact that the football season will proceed as planned. Well, you might not want to leave the bar just yet, because EA Sports has given us another little tidbit of football-related news to celebrate.

Namely, that a demo for Madden NFL 12 is on the way, and it’ll hit PSN and Xbox Live on August 9th. The demo will pit the Green Bay Packers against the Chicago Bears – the two teams that met in last year’s NFC Championship. The Packers, as most of you may have already heard, beat the Bears and went on to win Super Bowl XLV in a bout against the Steelers, so I’m sure Bears fans will have plenty of pent-up anger to release on those smug little digital recreations of the Packers when the demo lands.

This Madden 12 demo will contain the same teams that appeared in the NFC Championship last year, thanks to the lockout that only ended a few days ago. EA Sports says that all of the teams in Madden 12 will have their rosters updated to reflect the upcoming free agency changes on launch day, which is currently set for August 30th.

Finally, the demo will take place on Soldier Field and will offer up a 20-minute game that’s split into four five-minute quarters. Well have more Madden 12 news for you as EA Sports releases it, so keep it tuned here to TFTS!
