Acer Iconia Tab A100 Tablet Comes Available For Pre-Order, No Release Date In Site [Acer Iconia Tab A100 Pre-Orders Now Available For Those In The US, Prices Begin At $329 & Climb To Nearly $600]

It would have been nicer to write this post up with the tablet actually being available for sale, but we suppose the next best thing is the ability to place a pre-order. Basically, it looks like the Acer Iconia Tab A100 tablet has come available for pre-order with several retailers here in the US.

Though, the news of you being able to shell out some of your money comes with a not so nice side — as of now there is nothing to be found in terms of when the A100 will actually begin shipping. Well, aside from the last mention from Acer which came back in early-May when they stated that it would be available sometime later in the year.

That being said, those brave enough to move forward have a few options at this present time. And unfortunately, our favorite of Amazon is not included in that list. Anyway, the pre-orders can be placed with Excaliber PC and Negri Electronics who have it priced at $329 and $390 respectively. Given that, we suspect most would choose Excaliber PC. But then again, given the pre-order history with Excaliber, we would suggest holding back, showing some patience and waiting until we see some of the bigger players such as Newegg, Buy.com and the previously mentioned Amazon.

Of course, if you are looking to get your hands on the Iconia Tab A100 now and cannot wait any longer — you do have an option. Well, you have an option as long as you are willing to shell out a bit more money. It seems a company called Overseas Electronics is selling them for $599.99 with the promise of having one shipped in from out of the country. And just in case you were wondering or considering that route, there are some additional costs which come in the form of a $18 “Buy Safe Bond” and a $12 UPS shipping charge.

Bottom line here, while we present the options, we do suggest waiting a bit. Or at the very least, picking another currently available tablet.
