T-Mobile G2x With Google Gets Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update
T-Mobile G2x users rejoice – you can now get Android 2.3 Gingerbread over-the-air update for your phone. The T-Mobile G2x with Google phone originally shipped with Android 2.2 Froyo. The Gingerbread update will apparently fix some problems users have been experiencing with the phone, as well as boost the device’s battery life. Check out the full list of upgrading benefits below.

Aside from improving battery life, the Gingerbread over-the-air update would help alleviate problems with unexpected reboots, and improve upon the usage of Qik record and share on the front facing camera. It also promises easier disabling of the Car Home functionality, but whether this gives users the capability to permanently disable it remains unclear.

When the T-Mobile G2x was pulled out of the T-Mobile shop back in May, there were assumptions that the LG-manufactured phone has hardware defects. T-Mobile, however, denied the issue, and claimed the phone really was just out of stock.
