HTC Vigor Specs & Features Leaked; New Android Smartphone Coming Soon?
Does the name “HTC Vigor” mean anything to you? Unless you’re working at HTC you shouldn’t be familiar with it, but starting today, we’re going to think of it as the next potential Android flagship phone coming from the Taiwan-based manufacturer.

The phone has been spotted in benchmark testing and the device is already revealing some important specs and features that could confer him the flagship smartphone status we referred to. According to the leaked specs we’re looking at a device that’s going to sport an impressive 1,280 x 720 HD display and an equally impressive 1.5GHz processor (although it’s not known whether it’s a single- or dual-core CPU). Other features include Qualcomm’s Adreno GPU, a 6-megapixel camera and Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, most likely with HTC Sense 3.0 on top and CDMA support.
HTC’s current flagship devices are the HTC Sensation, sold in the USA as the Sensation 4G with T-Mobile, and the HTC EVO 3D, sold in the USA via Sprint. Add to that the LTE-enabled HTC Thunderbolt available in Verizon stores and you’ll end up with three spectacular devices that will most likely pale in front of this new arrival. The Vigor, which still needs confirming, could be a tough rival for the iPhone 4S/5, the Samsung Galaxy S II or the Motorola Droid Bionic.
Even if the benchmarks have been tampered with, and the Vigor isn’t an actual HTC product name, we certainly expect the company to announce and release a bunch of new smartphones in the near future, running both Android and Windows Phone 7. Considering that new smartphones offer better and better hardware options, not to mention Microsoft’s strict hardware requirements, we expect to see at least a new flagship device per mobile platform coming out of HTC factories later this year, with a huge emphasis on Android as that’s the platform that makes the most money for HTC right now.
What will you choose, Android or Windows Phone 7, when it comes to your next smartphone purchase?
