Apple & Android Game Apps Rake In Average of $14 Per Transaction

Study Reveals How Much People Spend Buying In-Game Currency on Apple & Android Freemium Games

A study by Flurry Analytics reveals that $14 is the average amount people spend on game apps for Apple and Android devices. And most of these purchases actually came from people buying in-game currency within free-to-play or freemium games.

A huge percentage, 71% in fact, of the purchases are in the lower $0.99 to $10 end of the spectrum, with most transactions coming from the $9.99 price point. The $14 average came from the fact that 13% of the purchases are greater than $20, 5% of which are transactions that go beyond the $50 mark. While it’s clear that majority of the purchases go for below $10, it’s actually the high-end transactions that make up the bulk of Apple and Android game apps’ revenues.

We’re sure many of our readers are no strangers to spending money to buy in-game currency. But have you ever bought gold for any Android or iPhone game before?
