Nintendo Launches 3DS Video Service in North America
Nintendo 3DS owners in North America can now get exclusive 3D content through the new Nintendo Video service. The feature was first released in Japan earlier this July. The 3D videos are but short clips and not full-length features by any stretch of the imagination. But hey, they’re totally free.
To access the service, you’d have to download the Video app from the Nintendo eShop on your 3DS. Said app will automatically download files onto your 3DS whenever a new video’s available, and you’re connected to the internet. You can expect videos of various natures including music, sports, animation, and Hollywood movie trailers (the first of which is Captain America). In the next few weeks, the Video Service is rolling out clips by rock band OK Go, CollegeHumor, Jason DeRulo, Blue Man Group, and Foster the People.

If you’d rather watch full movies, Nintendo also recently launched a Netflix app for the 3DS. And while actual 3D movies aren’t available for download yet, Nintendo says they will be soon enough.
