New BlackBerry Smartphone to be Released Tomorrow?
RIM is on a roll today when it comes to leaks and rumors, but we won’t forget the real news is that the company is preparing to ditch 2,000 employees in order to adapt to the continuous changes in the mobile world that affect its business. But RIM has also updated its Facebook profile announcing an important announcement for tomorrow.

Is it a smartphone, an OS update, some new BlackBerry apps? Here’s what the Facebook status says:
Hey Team BlackBerry, what’s shiny, new and social all over? We want to tell you all about it. Can you guess what it might be? Tune in tomorrow for details!
So what can be that shiny, new and social at the same time? We’ve seen plenty of BlackBerry leaks these past few days: the official images BlackBerry Torch 2 and the BlackBerry Volt/Touch, the training videos for the BlackBerry 9790 or the Verizon BlackBerry 9860 photos. Does that mean RIM is ready to announce a new smartphone tomorrow? Or is the company rather referring to some sort of update for its social applications? Not that app updates can be shiny or new all over.
The only new shiny, new and social thing we can think of right now is not a RIM creation. The HTC ChaCha also known as the HTC Status, is a Facebook phone that’s currently selling in various markets; the HTC Salsa on the other hand is a Weibo phone if you’re in China. Could RIM launch anything similar? That hardly seems to be the case considering we have a pretty good idea of what’s coming to RIM in the near future in terms of hardware.
On the other hand, if RIM is referring to some sort of new social apps for its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet then I guess we could be looking at something shiny, new and social in that area. Anyone really excited about tomorrow’s RIM announcement?
