Apple iOS 5 to Integrate Voice Recognition Technology on the iPhone [Leaked Info Indicates iPhone 5 Might Feature Crowd-Sourced Voice Control Function Called "Assistant"]

We already know that Apple is working on a voice control technology for the iPhone, and a recently leaked info might have just revealed one of its uses. According to 9to5Mac, Apple is developing a crowd-sourced voice control feature called “Assistant.” This could apparently be the result of Apple’s acquisition of Siri; a service with the capacity to search for restaurants, movies, events, local businesses, taxis and so on and so forth based on your voice command. And yes, it can reserve seats and tickets for you, too.

The leaked photo below coincides with Siri’s tag line, which is “your virtual personal assistant.” Nothing’s been confirmed yet. But aside from the leaked photo, the source is also going by the Assistant’s SDK findings that have location and contact information-finding commands similar to Siri’s features in order to support its theory.

The feature might also only be available on the iOS 5 for the iPhone 5, and might not even be ready when the device goes out for shipping. Of course, Apple hasn’t even officially announced when the iPhone 5 is going to be launched. But if the September rumors are true, then you might have to endure a bit of waiting still before you could get your paws on the Assistant function.
