GameStop Employee Fired For Planking In Store
Planking may be the worst thing to come out of Australia since Vegemite. If you’re not familiar with it, planking is an online craze where people post pictures of themselves laying flat like a board on social networks like Twitter and Facebook. It started in Australia/New Zealand and has spread to the rest of the world. You get props amongst people who actually like this stuff for posting pictures of you planking in funny/dangerous/werid/awesome places (some guy actually died after falling from an apartment building roof after trying to show himself planking off the side). Now, an American GameStop employee has been fired from his store after posting a picture of himself planking between two in-store kisoks.

John Mazzocchi (@Mazzlow on Twitter) posted a picture of himself planking at the GameStop, along with the delightful comment:
When I go #planking I go hardcore
Somebody in charge at GameStop didn’t like that Mazzocchi was planking in their fine retail establishments, and Mazzocchi was fired. Also, his friend and fellow employee who had taken the picture was also fired. Mazzocchi wasn’t just some new guy who had been there two weeks – he was a five year veteran of GameStop, which you’ll know if you ever have worked in the high turnover world of retail might as well be twenty years at an office job.
Although Mazzocchi and his pal are out of a job, he seems to be in high spirits about it. He’s been joking about on Twitter how he’s the first guy to get fired for planking at work and whatnot. As for why GameStop came down so hard on him and his pal, they probably wanted to make an example out of him and to prevent any other employees from getting ideas. That’s how people who sit in boardrooms all day think – you know?

Good. Planking is the stupidest fad since the pet rock.
Yeah! I just hate that thing. Finally GameShop must be a good store.
