Google+ Has 20 Million Users According To comScore
Google+ is the newest social network on the block. It just came out weeks ago, yet it’s been the talk of the blogging world since then. According to the last official numbers, it already has 10 million users. But now, outsiders are estimating that Google’s social network has hit 20 million users. In fact, it’s already outpacing the explosive growth of Twitter.

According to analyst firm comScore, Google+ has already hit 20 million users. If that number surprises you, you’re not alone. comScore VP Andrew Lipsman told the Wall Street Journal, “I’ve never seen anything grow this quickly.”
Of those 20 million users, comScore reports that most of them are Americans. 5.31 million Google+ users are American. The second most connected country on Google+? India, somewhat surprisingly, at 2.85 million users. The United Kingdom, then Canada and finally Germany round out the top five.
And if you think Google is pleased with the success that Google+ has had thus far, think again. As we’ve already written about here on TFTS, Google has plans to attract celebrities, allow companies and brands to be represented, and even allow developers to add games to the service. It’s not confirmed, but I think Zynga will be bringing their popular line of Facebook games to Google+.
And while Google Buzz was attacked (and probably ultimately sunk) because of the privacy concerns, privacy nuts are pleased with the way Google+ handles privacy. It looks like Google is doing a lot of things right with G+.
Celebrities made Twitter big, and everybody in your social circle being in it made Facebook big. We know that Google already has a master plan to lure celebrities to Google+, but will it ever reach a critical mass where enough people are on Google+ that it draws in everybody else (like a black hole collapsing under its own gravity)?
