Motorola Droid Bionic Pricing Leak Just a Photoshop Job After All
Yesterday we told you that the Motorola Droid Bionic has been spotted on Verizon’s Droid Does website together with its official price, $299 on contract. Well it seems the image in question was photoshopped and Verizon has not leaked any launch details, pricing included, about the upcoming Droid Bionic; at least not yet.

The Bionic is the next LTE handset supposed to hit Verizon stores in the near future, and while the image we showed you yesterday may be faked, it is probably safe to assume that the Droid Bionic will more expensive than regular smartphones, just like all the LTE phones Verizon sold before it. The Bionic’s rumored launch date is early August but neither Verizon nor Motorola have confirmed it yet.
As for the Droid Does website, we’re yet to see it feature the Droid Bionic. It turns out that the image hit various tech blogs, us included, featured yesterday, has been photoshopped by someone that desperately needs some attention. Various elements of that page have been put together to fool the audience into believing the Droid Bionic was indeed spotted on Droid Does.
Naturally the trickery did not last very long as folks trained in the art of Photoshop, and familiar with the mobile business, have been able to conclude the Droid Bionic images have been faked. Verizon is not saying anything about the leak, but whether photoshopped or not, the fake Droid Bionic image still creates buzz around this upcoming LTE device, which is definitely a good thing for the carrier.
We would not have been surprised to see Verizon drop the ball on this one, and actually leak the Droid Bionic by mistake via Droid Does, especially since we’ve seen plenty of accidental leaks in the past in this business. But we are going to keep a close eye on the Droid Bionic for you as the next rumor or leak is probably just around the corner.
