Asus Eee PC X101H Goes Through FCC
Asus unveiled the Eee PC X101 earlier this year, which was supposedly one of the cheapest netbooks, at sub $200 prices. The Windows variant is currently going through FCC scrutiny, and we might see this inexpensive little netbook hit the store shelves soon.

Asus’ latest X101 netbook comes with an 8GB and runs MeeGo Linux. At $200, that’s a good deal for a netbook, but if you feel that the 8GB SSD is too small for you, Asus offers an option for bigger capacities. The Eee PC X101H comes with a larger-capacity hard drive (at 250 or 320 GB drive with a spinning disc). This particular model will also come with Windows 7 preinstalled, so if you’re worried about compatibility with your devices and applications, this might be a better alternative.
The Eee PC X101H comes with an Intel Atom processor, 10.1-inch 1024×600 display and a 3-cell battery. There’s also a 6-cell battery option for longer uptimes, but there’s no word whether Asus plans to release it as an option or as an add-on accessory in the US market. This particular variant is likely to be more expensive than the planned $199 price for the Eee PC X101, given the price of Windows 7 and the bigger hard drive, though.
