HTC Puccini Clears FCC, Next Stop AT&T
We’ve been following word about the HTC Puccini tablet for some time now, and the word of late has been relatively dark, being as the last time we talked about this was clear back in June. But we’ve got an update today, and if you’ve been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to lay hands on an HTC Puccini of your own, then be of good cheer, as this particular chunklet of news is going to have you very happy indeed.

It ‘s now being referred to, as well as the HTC Puccini, as “model number PG09410″, and the last report says that this sucker’s heading for the crew out at AT&T.
Early word about this being an LTE device seem to be confirmed as of now, with LTE radios set to operate in both AWS 4 and 17. We’ve also got GSM and 3G working here, as well as what looks to be a SIM card slot, and the earlier word about this being a 10.1 inch tablet seems to be quite true, based on the current reports. A dual-speaker setup is also set to appear, but the early word that suggested a 3D camera would crop up here now appears to be quite for naught.
Earlier word had this sucker pegged at a June launch date, but since it’s only just now getting out of the FCC, it’s pretty safe to say that that one’s not going to come to pass after all. But with its FCC gauntlet successfully cleared, it’s pretty well safe to say that this will be hitting stores somewhere in the neighborhood of soon. Some are expecting this to land by even the end of summer.
The question here is, of course, will this be sufficient tablet to get people’s attention in the face of a glutted tablet market, or will the HTC Puccini find itself struggling for an audience the second it launches? I find myself skeptical of most every new tablet PC that emerges because so often it just seems like one more brick in the wall.
But how about you guys? Anybody eager to get hands on an HTC Puccini? Or are you just waiting for the iPad 3 to make its appearance? Either way, we want to know what you think, so hit the comments section below!
