LG Officially Announces The Optimus Net & Optimus Pro Smartphones
LG offered a bit of detail on the Optimus Pro smartphone a few days back, and as of today they have returned with an official announcement on that handset along with another, the Optimus Net. This pair of smartphones has yet to be priced, however judging from the specs and the fact that LG is touting them as “Androids for Everyone” we are fairly confident in saying that they will come with affordable price tags.

And before we get into the specs, lets first cover the when. According to the details from LG, the Optimus Pro and the Optimus Net will be “available starting this summer” and they will be found in “30 markets beginning in Europe.”
The LG Optimus Pro will feature goodies such as a 2.8 inch touchscreen display and hardware QWERTY keyboard. The Optimus Pro is dubbed as being a “simple social networking” handset and will be available in three color options — white, black and titan.
The LG Optimus Net is dubbed the “next generation of social communication” and will bring features to include a 3.2 inch (320 x 480) HVGA touchscreen display, virtual keyboard and DLNA. As for the social communication portion, that comes in with the LG Social + integration which means that “with a single click, users can multitask between updating their status on Facebook and Twitter while reading their friends’ social media feeds on the same screen.”
Otherwise, the specs for the Optimus Net “will vary market by market.” In Europe however, some of the carrier branded devices will feature Near Field Communication (NFC). In Brazil, China, Asia and the CIS region the Optimus Net will come as a dual SIM handset. As for the North American version of the Optimus Net, that model is noted as having a QWERTY keyboard. The Optimus Net will be available in both white and black.
And lastly, the Optimus Net and the Optimus Pro will feature an 800MHz processor as well as a 1500 mAh battery and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
