iPhone 5 3D Leaked Ahead of Release Date; We Doubt Its Real
Remember how the iPhone 4 was forgotten in a bar a few months ahead of its actual announcement? Well today we have a leaked iPhone 5 story for you (and plenty of images showing it after the break) although the handset in question has not been found in a bar yet.

Even before we start talking about this leaked iPhone unit I’ll tell you right away that I doubt we’re looking at the real deal today, but the images below certainly raise some interesting questions. That’s because we’re talking about an iPhone 5 3D today, and this is basically the first time we’ve seen such a rumor in the wild. Can Apple already consider launching a 3D iOS device? There are plenty of reasons I can think of, both for and against such an early Apple initiative but let’s look at the images below for now.

What we’re looking at here is a device that definitely resembles the current iPhone 4. On the back we can clearly see two cameras that could offer you support for 3D video recording and 3D photos and two LED flashes; and the dual LED flash part is something we’ve heard of before. The front reveals what appears to be an edge-to-edge display (possibly a 4-inch one) the speaker and the front-facing camera, although the Home button is not available in this image. The back images also shows us the volume buttons and the mute/orientation lock, as well as the outer antenna, which is pretty consistent with the current iPhone 4 design.

Those 3D cameras could very well be photoshopped and I’m guessing Photoshop experts could better analyze them. What I’m also disturbed about is that iPhone 5 product name printed on the back of the iPhone. The iPhone 4 has just “iPhone” printed on the back, not “iPhone 5” so why would Apple change anything this time around?
As for the iPhone case that’s clearly seen in the first image, we can see the dent of the on/off switch in it, and while it’s definitely meant to add some credibility to the picture, I’d like to actually see the box design of this alleged iPhone 5 3D. The second image also features the top of the box, but from what we can see so far we can’t really tell if it’s an actual iPhone 5 box.
As for that 3D support iOS 5 should bring to the table, nobody has found such 3D references in current iOS 5 beta versions that would back up such iPhone 5 claims. But should Apple really include 3D support in the iPhone 5 in the first place? Are people interested in recording 3D videos and snapping 3D pictures on the go? Sure there are 3D smartphones available in stores from HTC or LG, but are they really catching on that fast?

If you look at the word ‘iPhone’ you can see it’s perfectly centre-aligned to the text underneath, add that dodgy looking ’5′ however and it looks offset!
No flash, and portrait 3D?? No thanks!
And the picture is taken by a Samsung Galaxy S!
Probably not an apple addict spreading the rumour!
