iPad 2 Waiting Times Slip Under One Week
As you know if you’re tried to buy one, the iPad 2 is really, really popular. Even though it’s been out for almost four months, it’s been back ordered on Apple.com, with the shipping wait time being listed as “1-2 weeks”. However, as demand for the tablet decreases and supply increases, the waiting time for the new Apple tablet has slipped to just below a week.

Apple.com is now listing a waiting time of “3-5 business days” for each of the variants of the iPad 2. This is a major accomplishment, considering that as mentioned it’s been showing multiple weeks since the beginning and “1-2 weeks” since April.
Reports from Taiwan say that Foxconn has promised Apple they can make 14-15 million iPads in the next three months (after that, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a new iPad 2 “Plus”, as rumored.) While many are crediting improvements in Foxconn’s manufacturing process and an increase in supply as the possible reasons for the decreased wait time, some bloggers and pundits are pointing to reports from Taiwan that tablet demand has dropped considerably in that country because of the low supply. So, it’s possible that less people are buying iPads around the globe because they’re so fed up for the wait times. If that makes sense.
Regardless of the reasons, the waiting time for an iPad 2 online is now below one week. While yours truly is an Android tablet fan, half of the TFTS editors here are big iPad fans, and it is a rather excellent tablet.
