LG Optimus 3D Launched in Korea

LG Launches 3D Android Smartphone With Bundled 3D Games From Gameloft

LG introduced the Optimus 3D at MWC earlier this year, promising that it would be the super smartphone that would prove to be serious competition to the iPhone 4. And what’s the best way to launch a 3D smartphone? Bundle in 3D games!

LG has announced the launch of its latest Optimus 3D Android smartphone in its home market of South Korea. The phone comes bundled with three full versions of Gameloft S-3D games, including Ashpalt 7: Adrenaline, N.O.V.A. — Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance, and Let’s Golf! 2. These have been remastered from their original versions into 3D, to provide “realism and immersive game play.” Meanwhile, LG Optimus 3D buyers will also be able to download additional games from Gameloft S-3D at discounted prices. Some LG-produced 3D games will also be available for free download.

Aside from 3D games, the LG Optimus 3D features real-time conversion of two-dimensional photos and videos into 3D. LG also promises to provide software that can convert existing 2D games into 3D, which should be available as a software download or update within the year.

And while LG did the smartphone launch in Korea, the Optimus 3D is also being launched worldwide. Expect the Optimus 3D in online and offline stores soon.
