15 Million iPhone 4S/5 Orders Already Placed With Pegatron Ahead of Launch Date?
The iPhone 4S/5 is yet to be unveiled by Cupertino, but the rumors featuring various new details about the phone are popping all over the web on a regular basis. Today we hear that Apple is already getting ready for overwhelming iPhone 4S/5 demand that should follow immediately after launch, which is something we’ve seen with previous iPhone models.

According to DigiTimes, Pegatron has already received orders from Apple to make no less than 15 million iPhone 4S/5 units. That’s definitely an impressive number for Apple but certainly something expected from the company as the next-gen iPhone, whether a minor refresh (iPhone 4S) or a significant upgrade (iPhone 5), will be one of the most sought-after Christmas gifts this year.
Today’s rumor doesn’t reveal any specs and features of the upcoming iPhone model, although it would seem that the sources behind today’s leaked suggest the “iPhone 5, which does not seem to have any major update from iPhone 4, is already set for shipment in September.” Or, in other words, we’re rather looking at an iPhone 4S than an iPhone 5.
The fact that the new iPhone 4S/5 units will be shipped starting with September is not exactly breaking news considering that’s what other sources claim to be the launch window for the next iPhone. Pegatron will not comment on any of this yet, which is exactly what we expect from a company working closely with Apple on one of Cupertino’s main products, and especially of a company that wants to expand its collaboration with Apple to other products such as the iPad or MacBook laptops.
It’s also worth noting that while the cat’s away (iPhone 4S/5) the mouse will play (Galaxy S II sales), although in this instance, that saying can’t be applied 100%. The iPhone 4 is still a great seller for Apple, and, at the same time, the Galaxy S II, no matter if you consider it a wicked result of an iPhone clone, deserves to sell very well. Therefore the cat’s not really gone, and the mice are rather dangerous for that cat too. But enough with the animal kingdom as the point I’m trying to make is that the longer the iPhone 4S/5 takes to hit stores, the more success some of its direct rival will have, and the pack of great Android flagship handsets worth considering by smartphone enthusiasts is growing bigger, and stronger, every quarter.
