Sprint Branded Conquer 4G Images & Specs Revealed Ahead Of Official Announcement

It appears as if Samsung has gotten a bit ahead of Sprint, or at least they were up until the point where they removed the details from their website. Yup, it looks like Samsung has accidentally revealed an upcoming Sprint branded Android handset before the official announcement.

The phone is the Conquer 4G (aka, Samsung D600) and while Samsung offered up (albeit briefly) the specs along with some images we still need Sprint to tell us when it will be available and how much it will cost. That being said, here is what the Conquer 4G will bring in terms of features.

• 3.5 inch (320 x 480) HVGA touchscreen display
• Single-core 1GHz MSM 8655 Qualcomm processor
• 3.2 megapixel rear facing camera with flash
• 1.3 megapixel front facing camera
• Slide-out hardware QWERTY keyboard
• CDMA on the 800/850/1900 MHz bands
• 4G support
• Android 2.3 Gingerbread

Bottom line, as you can see from what was mentioned, the Conquer 4G is not going to be the highest spec’d device in the Sprint lineup, but that being said — assuming a fair price it could be a nice offering. If nothing else, this makes it seem like we are starting to see a new standard for affordable Android devices. In other words, something for the person that wants a quality phone but does not need the most cutting edge and perhaps more important — something solid for the person that does not want to spend a fortune on a phone.

And lastly, judging from how Samsung feels the Conquer 4G is ready to go — we suspect we are going to be hearing something from Sprint sooner rather than later. Of course, nothing solid in that respect just yet. So how about it, what are the TFTS readers thinking is a fair price point for a device like this — maybe something in the $100 range? Or at the very least, $100 after any rebates.
