Xtreamer Prodigy Offers A Surprising New Update [Xtreamer Prodigy Gets A New Update That Offers A Surprising New Feature, Especially If You've Got A Higher-End Television]
It’s been a while since we heard anything out of Xtreamer; about the last thing we did hear was about the Xtreamer Prodigy, a nice little streaming box for your various media. But the Prodigy has taken on a bit of an upgrade in recent days, and if you’ve got a big new television, you’re going to want to hear about this.

See, the big update to the Xtreamer Prodigy isn’t going to be useful for everyone. In fact, it’s only likely to be useful for a handful of people at this stage of the game, but if you’ve got a newer television that can handle 3D showings, then the Xtremer Prodigy is going to have you covered, because it can now handle 3D streaming.
That alone makes this a pretty impressive little package, as it’s one of the first at its price level to handle 3D, but that’s not where the fun ends, merely where it begins. The hardware has also been tricked out, with a processor upgrade to a 750 MHz version that can handle Android 2.2, support for USB 3.0, a dual boot feature (though that will be coming later this year, at last report), and even a drive bay that will accommodate up to a three terabyte hard drive, which is a whole lot of video. Special bonus: it’ll even come with a free rechargeable mini keyboard, though you’ll have to move quick to get in on that special.
They’re taking preorders on it right now, and if you want in on this much expanded media solution, you’ll have to shell out 149 euros, or about $214 US.
Not a terrible price considering all you get, especially considering how rapidly streaming media is being adapted into the home theater landscape. And if you’ve got the 3D hardware already, it can’t hurt to have another source of material on hand. After all–3D content is still in pretty short supply, and you certainly don’t want all the features of that huge new system to go to waste, right?
So do you guys think you’d want to pick up an Xtreamer Prodigy? Or do you have a better system for getting your hands on the content you want? Head on down to the comments section and tell us about your home theater!
