Skyrim DLC To Be Less Frequent But Larger-Scale
Bethesda’s Todd Howard says that the team is switching up the way they do DLC in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. In the past – with Oblivion, Fallout 3, and currently with New Vegas – we’ve been used to relatively small DLC packs for Bethesda games, but this time around, DLC will be less frequent and more “substantial.”

“We would like to do DLC; we don’t have any specific plans yet, but they’ve been really successful and we like making them,” Howard said in an interview with AusGamers. “So right now I can say that we’d like to do less DLC but bigger ones — you know, more substantial.”
Howard says that Skyrim won’t fall victim to the DLC release schedule that Fallout 3 did, where we got a lot of individual piece of DLC (five to be exact) in a relatively short amount of time. “The Fallout 3 pace that we did was very chaotic. We did a lot of them — we had two overlapping groups — and we don’t know what we’re going to make yet, but we’d like them to be closer to an expansion pack feel.”
I don’t know about you, but I’d definitely be alright with buying a couple of expansion packs for $20 a pop rather than paying $5 each for little add-ons that don’t really extend the length of the game by a noticeable amount.
But what about the end of Skyrim? Are we going to get a hard ending like in Fallout 3 of Fallout: New Vegas and then have to purchase DLC in order to continue our character after the main story wraps? “No. No, that was a mistake, yeah. We were really confident about that, then the game came out and we heard pretty loud and clear that was not what they wanted,” Howard admitted “So we’re not gonna do that again. No, you’ll definitely be able to.. when you finish the main quest you can just keep playing.”
Music to my ears, Mr. Howard. Music to my ears.

I hope they include a way we can change our characters looks, for example, like the mirror in dragon age 2, somthing like that if they haven’t already thought of that.
