Nook Color Owners Can Get Angry Birds Mighty Eagle For Free at Barnes & Noble Stores [B&N Wants Nook Users to Visit Stores & Offers Free Game Content]

The Barnes & Noble Nook Color is considered a capable Android tablet whether or not you root it. In an effort to attract people to their brick-and-mortar stores, Barnes & Noble is offering free in-game content to visitors.

Bring your Nook Color to any Barnes & Noble store, get connected via the store’s Wi-Fi hotspot, and you can get the Angry Birds’ Mighty Eagle for free once every hour. This might come in handy if you’re having a difficult time with one or two levels of the addictive game. If you’re already an expert, it’s still cool to see the Mighty Eagle swoop down on the nasty green pigs.

Both Rovio and B&N are planning to offer more content downloads and free offerings in the future. Rovio says this is just the start, and that they plan to bring Angry Birds content to real-world locations around the world in the future, letting users unlock in-game reward while located at certain places or hotspots. For Barnes & Noble, this is only the first. They also plan to offer other freebies to people who will visit the store.

Note that the free Mighty Eagle offer is only valid for folks who are playing Angry Birds on their Nook Color, and the character can only appear once per hour while in the store. Users of other smartphones or tablets would have to shell out the usual $0.99.
